Navigation & Seamanship

We are pleased to offer a comprehensive range of shore-based classes aimed at all those who cruise in sailing or motor yachts, or otherwise navigate in small craft. These courses are built on a long-standing reputation for quality and take advantage of the excellent facilities at the centre. Our professional tutors seek to ensure success by offering a great deal of individual attention to all our students. Class numbers are limited to help achieve this aim.

Which course should I do?

  • If you have no experience and want a simple introduction, why not try the new ‘Basic Navigation’ course. This would also suit if you only require the fundamental skills required for small boat navigation in local waters.
  • The ‘Day-Skipper’ course is a comprehensive course, taking you from novice, and providing you with the core skills required to start cruising. (Although this course assumes limited prior knowledge, some experience of a boating activity will be an advantage)
  • If you have put your Day-Skipper skills into practice or you are an experienced sailor with a good practical knowledge of basic navigation, you may be best suited to the Coastal-Skipper/Yachtmaster course.
